Lymmhay Lane, Lymm, WA13 0JD
Lymmhay lane, Lymm (go to the end), opens map
Large area including 3-4 playing fields (with new goal posts), along the edge of sow brook & next to the allotments. The area is a flood plain for the river Bollin and due to poor drainage the pitches can get waterlogged in & after very wet weather. The pitches are quite open - with good views, not much shelter from the wind.
There is a large car park (shared with sow brook allotments), or a smaller car park to the left of this.
The car park is also convenient for the trans-pennine trail which crosses Lymmhay lane.
There is a footpath (cul-de-sac) from the car park down to the ship canal
Facilities
The nearest shops / restaurants are in Lymm Village centre, about 1/2 a mile or a 10 minute walk (it takes about the same time to drive, find a village centre parking space & get a parking ticket - free for the first hour).
There is a coffee van a short walk away along the TPT (details and opening hours in link)
Sextons Bakery & The Coffee House are recommended for those watching matches, use the menus above for takeaway, eat in & pub options in the village centre or nearby.
