Back in the days when churches had cold earth floors, the annual renewal of rushes on the floor for cleanliness and warmth became an occasion for celebration. The Lymm Rushbearing procession has been revived in recent years, though the event was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19 and went ahead in 2021.

The event typically starts at 16:00hrs with a procession from the Lower Dam / village centre, through the Dingle and ending at St Mary's Church for a short service at about 16:30hrs.

There's a suggestion that 2022 schedule will be: Dancing from 14:30, Procession at 16:00 & Service approx 16:30, more details when available...
