Public Meeting – Future of the 47 Bus
Many of you will have heard that the 47 bus service – which mainly serves Statham – is set to be withdrawn. While this is disappointing, there’s important context: the annual subsidy for this route is over £100,000, and the Council is looking at how that money could be used to provide better transport options for more people.
The plan is to introduce additional services, including improvements to the Lymm Shopper Bus and possibly some “transport on demand” services – which could actually be more convenient and flexible for many residents.
Meeting details
Led by Cllr Ian Marks, this in-person meeting will focus specifically on the 47 service and what could replace it. Ian has been working hard on this issue and will share the latest updates and proposals. I’ll also try to livestream it via Facebook Live for those who can’t attend.
Please note: this meeting is only about the 47 route – I’ll cover updates on the 5 and 280 services separately.
