Lymm Youth Table Tennis

Lymm Youth Table Tennis Club

We started this club over summer / autumn 203.

The aim of this club is to get youths together to play table tennis - from table tennis novices to experienced players.

The initial target is for year 7 children (those who have just started High School), younger players are welcome as long as they are with a responsible adult at all times, though due to the hight of the tables we'd expect a minimum age of 6 or 7 years (approx 120cm tall).

We have generous support from Lymm Youth and Community Centre (LYCC), who provide the space, the tables and equipment.

We use the main hall of Lymm Youth & Community Centre (accessed from the junction of Boat Stage & Bridgewater Street, or next to Saddlers and Lymm Heritage Centre).

We will provide drinks and snacks for the children - please advise of any allergies / intolerences when booking.

We are looking to run both social sessions (limited coaching) & coaching sessions, with a Table Tennis England accredited coach. We need to pass on the cost of the coach - this should be less than £10 per 90 minutes.

Schedule:

  • Sunday 2nd March 2025 14:00 to 15:30 hrs
  • Sunday 9th March 2025 14:00 to 15:30 hrs
  • Sunday 23rd March 2025 14:00 to 15:30 hrs
  • Sunday 27th April 2025 14:00 to 15:30 hrs

(one or more of the above should be coached sessions - details TBC).

All attendees should be pre-booked - please use the contact form on this site to send a PARENTS mobile number, which will be added to a WhatsApp group & will share ticketing site details).

We have received significant support from across the community in Lymm, without this support this venture would not be possible.

Equipment

We have access to four full sized table tennis tables. Whilst we can get up to 16 players at a time (doubles, e.g. 4 per table), 10 players is a comfortable maximum.

All equipment, bats & balls are provided. Please wear suitable sports clothing if possible (it can get warm). Players are welcome to bring their own bats, please make sure they are labelled.

If children want to purchase their own bats, our coach has recommended the following: https://ppong.co.uk/collections/treding-now/products/dhs-4002-bat (out of stock at Sept 2024 - we'll get some other recommendations) - please note these are not essential - come along, join in & try some different equipment.

Location
